The journey to opening this self-love inspired boutique has been a life-time in the making.

I have always loved style and fashion! As a little girl, I remember dressing up in my grandmother's work clothes, putting on her makeup, and strutting myself around her kitchen pretending to be on a runway! But, as I grew up and my body changed, I discovered that the latest fashions were not always created for my body-type or size. 

Like many women, I struggled with body-image and self esteem issues, as well as my weight. Throughout my life, my weight has fluctuated and I have worn everything from small through plus, always trying to look and feel my best. Not surprisingly, I pursued a career as a fashion consultant which made looking fashionable and staying on trend an absolute must. This became an increasingly difficult task however as department stores seemed to cater to specific body types, sizes or age groups - and rarely the ones that matched me (go figure???). It seemed that comfort and style, without looking juvenile or matronly, was a tall order for a woman over thirty wearing anything larger than a size 8. I found myself going to multiple stores just to source a single outfit, and sometimes leaving with nothing but tears. This was not the shopping experience I wanted, and I knew I was not alone. And so, the concept of Annie's Cranny body-positive boutique began. 

Where could I go to find fashionable, comfortable and affordable clothes? Where could my friends, of different ages, sizes and body types, and I go to shop together? Where could we go to feel and look our best as we are? If my grandmother, Anne, taught me anything as I strutted around in her heels so many years ago, it was that if you want something you have to work hard for it and persevere. Her love, guidance, work ethic and encouragement helped me become the woman I am today, and lead me to creating a boutique which honors her legacy, my love of fashion and my life-long pursuit to look and feel good in any size. 

Beauty comes in all sizes - so should fashion and flattering fits, without compromising comfort and affordability. Annie's Cranny offers the shopping experience I always wanted, celebrating all women and helping us all to look and feel our best.
